About the Sonic games

Between 2009 and 2017, Gameloft has released multiple Sonic games. Most of them are ports of Sonic games released by SEGA.

Each game has their own versions designed for certain mobile devices. With the exception of Sonic Runners Adventure, each game has 3 versions: short, medium and long.

The short versions are usually made for mobile devices with a screen resolution of 128x128. They contain the least amount of content and the game graphics are redesigned to work within the limitations of lower-end devices.

The medium versions are similar to the short versions, but they feature additional content over the short versions. These versions are usually made for mobile devices with screen resolutions between 128x160 and 240x320. In 128x160 devices, the game graphics look like the ones found in the short versions.

The long versions are the ones that most people know. These versions made for mobile devices with screen resolutions of 240x320, but also higher (with the exception of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing). They usually contain all the content that the game is intended to have.

Some versions with higher screen resolutions have touch controls for mobile devices with touchscreens. However, due to the limitations of touchscreens on certain mobile devices, the early games do not support multi-touch, making the controls a bit awkward to use.
